Movies…

The love for movies is ingrained in my family’s genes, even Rhys gets excited when he sees me putting in a DVD into the player. There a couple of movies according to our standard which are a general must watch… one cannot really be my friend, okay that may be stretching it a bit… one cannot really know me if you haven’t watched at least half of these movies on this MUST WATCH list… they are not in any particular order…

  1. Shawshank Redemption
  2. Saving Private Ryan
  3. The Matrix
  4. Terminator
  5. Terminator 2
  6. Gone With The Wind
  7. Face/Off
  8. Sound Of Music
  9. Lion King
  10. Popeye (technically not a movie but deserdvedly on this list)

  2. @3… had heard about the 4th terminator being discussed but didn’t know it was being made for sure. if james cameron is involved like the first 2, it will be good but otherwise, i am skeptical

@kei… do you want to know me?

@tandra… lol… you actually made me laugh so hard… i hear the ones that you are embarassed are on my list. one is a cartoon, that never goes out of fashion and the other one was directed by james cameron, serious stuff… kyoka some peeps.

  3. Bambi I can’t be your friend. I’ve only watched a few of those. Some I’ve never even heard of. But I’m not a movie buff so does that count?

  4. I’ve watched a few of those the beginning and the ending…..does that still count? Ive watched Mr& Mrs Smith, Oceans 11, 12 and 13…surely that should count for something

  5. your movie taste is quite shall i say “macho” or more precisely blood filled…terminator, lock stock and two smoking barrels, braveheart, desperado…
and then the other side of the scale it gets all gooey…gone with the wind et al…does this imply that you are pretty multidimensional….and love the fantasy of life considering your love for the superheroes/larger than life persons ie matrix, spiderman, batman…ahhhh but what do i know…perhaps i am seein myself in these movies….

  6. Grease, impressive
    Lock-Stock-2smokes again,impressive
    Shawshank, top-drawer
an affair2remember- managed to finish this somehow though can’t quite remember some parts
    matrix- again impressive
    theusualsuspects – top drawer…

    LOLsss

  7. @carlo… your not being a movie will excuse you for this time so its kawa

@princess… oh yes we would be friends. actually had a good friend called princess when i was like 4/5 years old

@apr9… those are just a few of my favourites

@esquire… that is some serious analysis. the macho bit is the tomboy side of me, well the gooey is in every girl and yes i do love sci-fi… so there’s some gooey in you?

@mr.b2b… scarface gave me some nightmares for a while, way too bloody and yet first watched it when i was about 9

@antipop… hmmm, we all have different tastes

  8. The only ones I haven’t seen are Saving Private Ryan, The Usual Suspects, Speed, An Affair To Remember, Heat, Evita, Despardao, True Lies, Scarface and Gods and Monsters. Can I be your friend now?

  9. We are obviously supposed to be friends. I’ve scored well above 90%, and I’m not even a movie person.

You better invite me to Rhys’ next birthday and we lay the groundwork. If I had a daughter, we could even do the matchmaking thing.

  10. First time I watched Fight Club, Shawshank & Usual Suspect, I immediately hit the rewind button. After watching them for the second time, I realized I had to have them in my library. Ever been twisted? If u ain’t watched this, I feel for you.

    To add to the list,

    Reservoir Dogs
    Enter the Dragon(Yes that one)
    Kill Bill
    Pulp Fiction
    Schindler’s List
    Goodfellas
    6th Sense
    Se7en
    The Departed
    The Graduate (1967)
The Witches of Eastwick(1987 I’d give 1k to get this on dvd)
    Anger Management
    As Good as it Gets.

List is just endless. Great flicks friends.
A Series of Unfortunate Events (Humor in this is sick)

  11. Ooh! I forgot,

    The Quick & The Dead

The Specialist (Has one of the best sex scenes u ever seen)

Friday, Next Friday, Friday After Next (I can watch them Over & over)

  12. Nice list, Great that you started with Shawshanks Redemption (Greatest movie ever made!) if you didn’t like it then you didn’t watch it. I think your movie taste is quite interesting.

  13. If you have “Grease”, how come you don’t have “Fame”? and Fame 2? and Purple Rain? and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang?… And the Champion?

And i am not even a movies person!! As far as i am concerned, the older, the better.
